New Details About The Mysterious Virgin Hotel Surface

Until now, details about Sir Richard Branson's Virgin Hotel Chicago (the first in the US) have been slim to none. The building had been largely wrapped up during its renovation and buildout leading many to wonder what the heck the hotel will ultimately look like on the inside when it is completed. However, the big British multinational brand has recently released an infographic that offers just a little bit of insight on the hotel, breaking down the number of guest rooms, and some amenities. From the graphic, we can see that the Old Dearborn Bank building will be receiving lots of meeting space, guest rooms and a few key creature comforts. The guest room count, or "Chambers" as Virgin prefers to call them, will include 210 chambers, 38 one bedroom suites and two "Rock-Star" suites. As far as restaurant and bar offerings, the hotel will sport two "ace" restaurants, a coffee and wine bar, and a rooftop lounge. At this point, the hotel is expected to open in the autumn, although the trendy new boutique's opening date has been pushed back three times already. We'll be keeping our fingers crossed for a fall 2014 completion, but won't be terribly surprised if the much-delayed Virgin Hotel opening is delayed yet again.
