This weekend, some serious news happened in Chicago. In case you missed it, an eight hour standoff between police and a murder suspect from the Atlanta area caused a shutdown of Lake Shore Drive near the exit at Fullerton Parkway, leaving many motorists to themselves and their smart devices for a long portion of the day. And no, this fugitive was not Harrison Ford as Dr. Richard Kimble, although the long standoff certainly seemed like something straight out of Hollywood. For some drivers, the day started off with a jovial, scenic jaunt along the expressway but turned into chaos which ended with a freakin' flashbang grenade that led to the suspect's arrest. Here's how the whole thing played out on Twitter and Instagram.
Booooooooo to this traffic! #lakeshoredrive

#lakeshoredrive is open...after several hours. Still seeing tons of police lights...what a ridiculous situation.
