Northwestern Ready to Start Building Its $220M Athletic Center


Get ready Evanstonians, Northwestern University will finally begin construction of its long planned $220 million lakefront athletic center early next year. The Trib reports that the university is ready to begin the process of obtaining permits for the construction of the gargantuan two-building facility, with expectations that it will take about two years to complete. Northwestern has been expanding like crazy over the last few years, and is currently undertaking a building boom that will include a new biomedical research center, a music and communications facility, a new home for the Kellogg School of Management, as well as this new Perkins+Will designed athletic facility which will become the new home for the university's football and soccer programs.
