Harper Court, one of the largest developments in Hyde Park in decades may be changing hands after being owned by the University of Chicago for only a few short months. DNAinfo reports that the U of C has officially announced its intentions to sell its stake in the development that it paid $98 million for last November. The move comes as no major surprise, as the Hyde Park educational institution indicated at the time of purchase that it did not plan on being the long term owner of the project, but instead wanted to retain control over development rights to 425 future residences. Although the U of C wants to unload the project to an investor, it still plans on occupying the 150,000 square foot office tower at Harper Court for the next 20 years. The 130 room Hyatt Place hotel was not included in the university's November purchase of the development.
