Under $300K Club Returns With An Epic Four Way Death Match

New, 3 comments

In today's edition of Real Estate Death Match, we compare four condos in popular neighborhoods priced at $300K or under. We present to you a pair of brick walled lofts, a beautifully restored vintage pad and a condo that could use a new paint job. Take a long gander and let us know which place you would choose.

↑ West Town This one bedroom, one bathroom loft space at 2401 West Ohio Street has generous thirteen foot ceilings, exposed brick walls, a new kitchen and an open layout. Located near Western and Grand, this pad is just blocks away from the Metra station and could make for a very quick commute to the loop. Listed in September and taking a price drop in November, this space could be yours for $239,999

↑ Lakeview This meticulously restored two bedroom, one bathroom condo at 629 West Barry Avenue is just steps away from Belmont Harbor and Lakeview shopping. The old unit has nicely refinished wood floors and trim throughout and features a contemporary kitchen with all the bells and whistles to boot. The ask? $299,900

↑ South Loop Next we take you to the South Loop, or 'Sloop if you're with the in-crowd, to take a look at a two bedroom, two bathroom loft at 1601 South Michigan Avenue. The 1,450 square foot space has very tall twenty foot ceilings, and a lofted bedroom. This one definitely has an old school industrial charm with modern amenities including a gas fireplace, new windows and an updated (but small) kitchen. This one could be yours for $299,900.

↑ Lakeview For the final entry in today's death match we head back to Lakeview to take a look at a two bedroom, one bathroom pad at 1635 West Belmont Avenue. This condo is in a building with a beautifully restored terracotta facade. However, once we get inside, things aren't as pretty. This top floor pad could use a paint job. Amenities include a fireplace, granite counter tops, a spot in a heated garage and incredible views of the city. The price on this condo has dropped twice since it was listed last June, and currently stands at $300,000.
