Battle Over BRT

The battle over the proposed Ashland BRT continues. In this episode of Not In My Back Yard, southwest side Alderman George Cardenas (Ward 12) has come out against some provisions of the plan, primarily the issue that the new plan would ban most left turns off of Ashland. He believes that being unable to make a left turn off the busy street would push traffic into the neighborhoods, but BRT supporters say that allowing left turns with the BRT in place would cause major headaches for other drivers and pedestrians.
