Last summer, planners sought to include a skate park in the planned overhaul of a three acre section of Grant Park and to make this dream for aspiring young skaters come true, the city pledged $1 million to the idea. However, after petitioning from advocates, the city plans to seek another $1.5 million in TIF money for the deal, according to DNAinfo. In order to receive the funds, the skate park would need to be built by the end of the year, and the Mayor's office has indicated that they plan on presenting the request to the City Council this March. Sh#t's gonna be totally sick dude.
