Just days after the city approved a special-use permit for a new medical marijuana dispensary in West Town, a sign has been spotted on the door to the storefront at 744 N. Damen Ave. indicating that the plan is a done deal. Several other planned dispensaries throughout Chicago have already won permits, and a nearby medical marijuana clinic has already opened. According to the info on the sign, the application for the special-use permit was filed on November 3 Organic Leaf Medical Dispensaries LLC. According to a report from DNAinfo, the dispensary will focus on marijuana that won't get patients high, as it will dispense cannabidiol strands versus ones that contain high levels of tetrahydrocannabiol (THC).
