Boutique Marriott Autograph Hotel Coming To Streeterville

New, 8 comments

The hotel boom in Chicago is for real, and probably the strongest segment of the growing hotel market is smaller, "boutique" brands. In addition to the South Loop's Essex Inn being bought to be converted into a boutique brand, the city can count one more hotel announcement this week. Streeterville will see a new hotel under the Marriott Autograph Collection brand. The Hotel Sax at the House of Blues was recently converted into the same brand, a relatively new flag under the massive Marriott hotel name that focuses on high-end luxury hotels with designer touches located in metropolitan or destination areas. The 192 room Streeterville hotel will be on Ontario Street between Fairbanks and St. Clair streets, a few doors down from Marriott's Fairfield Inn on the same street, according to a press release. There's currently no word on construction or approval status.
