Here's the Aftermath of the Fire at the Former Mulligan School

New, 1 comment

A miniature apocalypse, actually let's call it Chipocalypse, hit the city this past Tuesday. A bus caught fire on Lake Shore Drive causing congestion, a small plane crashed into a home near Midway Airport and a huge fire broke out at the former Mulligan School, causing ice to form on the nearby L tracks, delaying even more commuters. As soon as the temperature dropped, it seemed like the sky was falling, and everything caught on fire. The old James Mulligan School in Lincoln Park went up in flames early Tuesday morning and firefighters answered the call with dousing the building in water — which promptly froze. Photog Brule Laker was at the scene and snapped these images, and submitted them to the Curbed Chicago Flickr pool. According to DNAinfo, no foul play is suspected, however the building was being converted into condos, and months of renovation work went up in flames.
