Really Tall Grocery Stores

New, 27 comments

Last night the developers behind the "Tower Of Jewel" project showed their plans to the community. The plan is to replace the low-rise Jewel Osco grocery store at Clark and Division and replace it with a 50 42 37 35 floor residential building with a brand new grocery store at the ground level. It sounds like the NIMBY brigade was out in full force, but we think any plan to replace a low-rise and a parking lot with a curb-hugging highrise sounds like a good idea. [Chicago Architecture Blog]
