Apartments Coming to Milwaukee Ave in Heart of Wicker Park

New, 3 comments

An old three story brick building on Milwaukee Avenue in the heart of Wicker Park will soon make room for 20 apartment units, Crain's reports. Developer Cedar Street Companies, who has become known for its projects around Uptown and Edgewater, has filed a zoning application to renovate and transform the old commercial building into residences. Currently, the building has multiple ground level retail tenants, including a Brooklyn Industries boutique. Milwaukee Avenue has been booming with new development activity this year, with much of it being new construction. And though 20 apartment units is just a drop in the bucket, the adaptive reuse of this old building will be a welcomed addition to the happenin' neighborhood.
