Developer Planning Two New Office Projects for Fulton Market

New, 4 comments

Developer Jeffrey Shapack of Shapack Partners is looking to plant a pair of new office buildings on vacant parcels in the West Loop area, Crain's has reported. Shapack has been busy in the greater West Loop area, having recently completed the new Soho House hotel and private club, converting the old Amity Packing Co. building into shared office space, as well as proposing a new apartment tower at Halsted and Lake. Now Shapack is looking to add office space to his portfolio.

One project is being proposed for a surface parking lot at Fulton Market and Halsted Street, right next to the Glazed and Infused donut shop. This building is looking to stand at seven stories tall and will deliver roughly 50,000 square feet of office space and 8,300 square feet of retail space to the booming Fulton Market area. It will also contain 12 parking spaces and feature a rooftop deck

The second, larger project will seek to reuse an existing three and six story building near 221 N. Peoria Street (the future home of WeWork Fulton Market), while adding a new 10 story tower and a new one story building to the mix. The new 10 story structure will feature ground level retail, four floors of office space, three floors of parking (56 spaces) and a rooftop patio.
