Frank Lloyd Wright's Robert Emmond House Sells for $800K

New, 4 comments

The Frank Lloyd Wright designed Robert Emmond House in suburban La Grange has finally sold after being on the market for over three years. The home's ask had taken numerous price chops since it was first listed, and the home sold last Friday for exactly $1,000 more than its most recent asking price of $799,000. The home was notable for being one of Wright's bootleg homes, which were commissions Wright took under the table while still employed by architects Adler & Sullivan. Built in 1892, the home is one of Frank Lloyd Wright's earlier works, and predates Wright's embracing of the Prairie School architectural style that he would become world famous for. There are still several Wright homes in the Chicago area that are looking for new owners.
