Frank Thomas' Colossal Former Mansion Relists for $2.5M

New, 11 comments

The Big Hurt's big ass former suburban mansion is back on the market. Built in 1997, the home spans 25,000 square feet and sits on over three acres of land in suburban Oak Brook. The home is currently bank-owned, and hits the market for only $2.5 million. According to the Tribune, Thomas had paid over $8 million to build the home. It first hit the market in 2000 for $11 million, more than four times the current asking price. The behemoth home is no doubt a McMansion's McMansion and sports a '90s contempo exterior look and features a basketball court, home gym, beauty salon, bar area, and of course a home theater. Suburban trophy homes built by athletes in the '90s have a hard time selling, but perhaps at its fire sale price, Frank Thomas' old digs could find a new owner sooner than later.
