Lake Shore Athletic Club Revived As Luxury Apartments

New, 1 comment

The old Lake Shore Athletic Club building reopened this month as luxury apartments. Laying dormant for almost nine years, the 19 story structure narrowly avoided the wrecking ball during the building boom. At nearly 85 years old, the building began its life as the home of a swanky private club, then as a part of Northwestern University. A previous plan for renovation included turning the old structure into upscale senior housing, but the developer changed gears and decided to convert the old building into luxury apartments. Sorry granny. Expect Gold Coast prices - rentals range from $1,900/mo for a studio to $12,000/mo for a three bedroom, two story apartment.
