Hyde Park's Harper Theater and Shoreland Apartments are receiving preservation awards from the Hyde Park Historical Society. The Shoreland, now luxury apartments, was once dorms for the University of Chicago and previously a hotel where Al Capone, Amelia Earhart and Jimmy Hoffa stayed. The Harper Theater, now with four times as many screens as the original theater, reopened this month. [DNAinfo]
