Sears is closing its flagship store on State Street in April. A spokesperson for the struggling company stated that the store has lost millions of dollars for Sears and that the company has been facing difficulty competing in the increasingly challenging retail industry. Times have been tough for the Hoffman Estates based company as revenue has fallen every year since 2005. Chicago Public Schools has announced that it will occupy the location once Sears closes.
