But that avenue hasn't been taken to heart by the county as it puts together study after study but commits to nothing. Cook County Hospital is nearing its 100th birthday and it remains the Medical District's crown jewel. Lynn Becker calls the district a "hodgepodge" littered with "Supply Chain" architecture and "ham-fisted alterations". Cook County Hospital is an expression of "a far more optimistic time."
