Two-Story Solarium Takes Lead in $449K Lincoln Park Duplex

The conspicuous 1970s condo building on Clark near Webster known as the Greenhouse Condos has another offering for the mid-range modernist buyer: a three-bed duplex-up with more panache than a recently-sold twin cousin. Designed by Gertrude Lempp Kerbis, Chicago's "first lady of Modernism", the building was rolled up in a larger Clark Street urban renewal project. The brick building's glass atrium intrusions cut sharply into setback edges and deliver fully-enclosed and heated two-story atriums to each unit. This space is well-manicured with kitchen tile work, built-in desks and shelves, and a helping of Japanese decor. It wants $449K.
