More now on the apartment plan for Halsted & Willow that threatens an old corner building and the surrounding low-rise character: the developer is Golub & Co, the plan is for 60 rental units replacing 43 units, and the rendering is at right. Golub owns the land beneath 144 apartments stretching north along Halsted and west along Willow and encompassing the three-story Black Duck building. Another iteration preserving the Black Duck building is available on Skyscraper Page (many thanks to the anonymous commenter), so we'll see which the developer emphasizes in tonight's community meeting.
