A CDOT press release states what we've all wanted to hear for months— that full construction of the Bloomingdale Trail begins this Monday. The first task is rehab of the viaducts and retaining walls, and removal of the old tracks. This weekend could be your last chance to intervene in the glorious shoddiness of the trail, and you might also wish to say your goodbyes to the miles of mural that blanket the embankment walls. Periodic traffic and parking disruptions are par for the course, but it'll be worth the aggravation when this beast finally opens as a city park in late 2014. [The 606, previously]
