AJ Capital is still musing over the possibility of bringing an 80-90 room boutique hotel, and an adjoining banquet space, to the 1928 Northwest Tower (aka Coyote Building), reports DNAinfo. AJ Capital purchased the 12-story Wicker Park icon, built as offices, from developer Krzysztof Karbowski after some distress on Karbowski's end. Ald. Scott Waguespack and neighbors maligned Karbowski's vision for a hotel conversion, and it eventually unraveled. AJ Capital, a successful hotel developer, has been talking 'hotel' since acquiring the property in 2011, but the conversation is becoming more public and it sounds like architect Ted Theodore (Noel Bank Walgreens) has signed on.
