Artist and graphic designer Phil Thompson of Cape Horn Illustration has published and printed a very cool hand-drawn map of the Chicago Marathon route, punctuated by iconic, representative sites along the way. You may recall Cape Horn from other awesome cartographic exploits, like the olde tyme sea monster-laden map of the Chicago waterfront. The marathon map was produced using boots on the ground observation in conjunction with Google Street View. Buy a poster and drag it along to the main event October 13th! [Chicagoist, previously]
