The Olympia Fields mansion that R. Kelly spent millions building in the late 1990s and lost to foreclosure earlier this year has a buyer under contract. The sale is scheduled to close for around $587K— the last listed asking price. J.P. Morgan Chase Bank took over the property in a "credit bid" for $950K in March. In its glory years, the gated three-acre estate and 14,500-square-foot mansion was valued at more than $5M, but by the time the R&B star listed the spread in 2011 it had wilted to an ask of just $1.6M. The place is said to be a mess but at least there's no evidence of illicit pissing escapades at the address. [Crain's, previously, previously]
