The Catalyst Passes the Midway Point in the West Loop

New, 17 comments

Marquette Companies' 19-story Catalyst Tower has been under construction at Washington & Desplaines since March, and today's drop-by shows work has reached the 13th floor. Sometimes skeletal construction looks a great deal like the finished product to come. In reference to the gray-toned Brininstool + Lynch renderings, this is one of those instances. Marquette and Brininstool + Lynch took over from developer Gary Rosenberg and Lucien Lagrange and promptly stripped the bands of fluorescent coloring from the design. Where's the fun in that? The building is delivering 223 rental units and 161 garage parking spaces and should open mid-2014. A Walgreens store will consume nine-tenths of the retail space.
