Unearthed from lord knows where are two renderings for the proposed mixed-use Illinois Medical District building at Damen & Ogden. Naturally, Skyscraper Page's Spyguy trotted them out for review mere hours after the Sun-Times broke the story. The development, managed by a venture of Higgins Development Partners, will feature a 200-room hotel and 200 units of rental housing with a healthy amount of retail. Accompanying low-rise structures will accommodate medical offices and a "life science" business incubator. The developers have 9.5 acres of land to work with— vacant for years and targeted for similar use going back to 2008.
