A developer has been chosen to manage construction of a $163M Medical District complex at 2020 W Ogden, writes the Sun-Times. Higgins Development Partners will execute existing plans for the 9.5-acre vacant site, which include a 200-room conference hotel, 200-unit residential tower geared toward Medical District employees (long live the company town!), parking for 500 cars, 100,000 square feet of retail, and a medley of medical offices and life science startups. The work will take years but Illinois Medical District Commission's Warren Ribley believes it will become the "hub of the health care and biosciences sectors throughout the entire region."
