The Shoreland Hotel has reopened to the first small batch of renters, reports DNAinfo. The conversion of the historic hotel, bastion of the Roaring 20s, into 330 apartments was taken on in 2009 by MAC Properties. The developer/manager purchased the slouched landmark from the University of Chicago who had for years operated a dorm onsite. The conversion boasts a substantial amenity package including gym, library, game room, and ultra-high-speed internet, and rents will range from $1,150 for a studio to around $2,000 for a two-bed.
