Extreme Makeovers

The proposed radical remake of a dreary 1970s single-fam in Edgewater Glen now has a sponsor. Peter Nicholas of Nicholas Design Collaborative tells Curbed that the visionary gut reno dubbed The Periscope House has a likely buyer. The design/build project went under contract two weeks after its early August listing at $899K. In Nicholas' words, the home's namesake feature is "the second story "periscope" [that] cantilevers over and beyond the plane of the existing front garden wall." It's very cool stuff for a sleepy block, and we're glad it's going to happen. [Periscope House, previously]
