Alfonso Soriano, star outfielder and second baseman with the Cubs until this summer, has put his outstanding 3,800-square-foot penthouse condo on the market reports Bob Goldsborough for The Tribune. Now a Yankee, Soriano purchased the three-bed, 44th-floor unit at River North's Pinnacle for $2.65M after scoring a historically huge contract with the Cubs in 2006. Soriano is attempting to move this real estate just weeks following his trade to the Yanks. The ask? $2.95M. The slick pad begins with a marble entryway, continues with a chef's kitchen, floor-to-ceiling windows, fireplace, and a 150 square-foot terrace, and throws in surround sound and a wine cellar. Is the staging stiff and the furniture forgettable? God, yes. But the right steward will remedy that. Note: this space is one floor below The Pinnacle's true penthouse, a 6,000-square-foot number with six outdoor spaces that recently sold for $6.5M.
