One Mil Off the Top of Monumental Pabst Blue Ribbon Estate

New, 13 comments

That 14,000-square-foot thing on two lake-proximate acres dubbed the Pabst Blue Ribbon Manor has taken a clean million-dollar price chop. Owning this 1930s Georgian palace, built for beer baron Harris Perlstein, would send your hipster cred through the roof, although not even trust fund hipsters could swing the $5.95M asking price. To refresh, the Glencoe home has eight bedrooms, eight full baths, a "grand salon", paneled walnut library, solarium, home theater, and a mind-boggling basement fun zone w/ bar, flatscreen TVs, and lounge. Oh, and somewhere in this maze of a home is a gaming center and gym. The grounds are adorned with patios, pools, water slides, and sports courts (OK, just one of each). The recent price chop brings the ask within $750K of the 2009 purchase price.
