Steady progress continues at 111 West Wacker, one of the city's most prominent and highly-anticipated projects. Nearly 14 floors have been added to the existing concrete skeleton since construction of the long-stalled project restarted last November. The 504-unit rental tower, designed by Handel Architects, is now virtually neck-and-neck with the LaSalle-Wacker building directly to the west and is closing in fast on its final height of 59 floors (630 feet). Since our last visit, bits and pieces of the blue glass facade have begun popping up here and there, giving us a better sense of how the finished product will play out. Units in the building range from studios on up to 3-bedrooms, along with a luxury penthouse that will undoubtedly offer up spectacular views. Completion is scheduled for 2014. Enjoy the pics!
