'Big Cat' Williams, Sturdy Bears Bruiser, Lists Manse for $1.75M

New, 2 comments

Former Bears offensive lineman James "Big Cat" Williams has listed his immense Lake Forest mansion, reports the Trib's Bob Goldsborough. From the looks of it the 1993 construction is far clumsier than Williams ever was in uniform, although certain constants are hard to scoff at: the seven beds and eight baths, vaulted ceilings, catwalk, heated spa bathroom floors, and acre lot. Also, goofy or not, the place has more skylights than conventional windows. Included in the 9,170-square-foot spread is 3,000-square-feet of basement play zone, with bar, theater, game room, and weight room. Williams spent his entire 12-year pro career with the Bears, starting 134 consecutive games. He's carried that success into motivational speaking and mentoring. Time will tell whether the mansion's $1.75M asking price—down from $1.9M—does enough to motivate buyers.
