Interviews: Habitat's Mark Segal

New, 18 comments

As an addendum to Chicago Architecture Blog's thorough review of Hubbard Place, an interview with developer Habitat Co's president Mark Segal has been released. Instead of standard development talk the focus is on Habitat's odd penchant as a huge developer and manager willing to get heavily involved in Section 8 and affordable housing, from SROs to mixed-income high-rises (Hubbard Place doesn't qualify). "I think you're either interested, or you're not," says Segal. "I don't think it's something that a financial incentive is going to get people involved." [Chicago Architecture Blog, previously]
