Modern Wheeler Kearns Manse Takes Skid, Sells for $2.825M

One of those achingly modern architect-built homes Curbed loves to track has just sold in Lincoln Park for $2.825M. The place is a trip, with an all-glass rear face, indoor lap pool, futuristic staircases, and ceilings approaching 20 feet. At 8,500 square feet we can legitimately call it a mansion, and its "parklike" 50' x 175' lot puts it in the class of major suburban spreads. Curiously this singular, rambunctious home couldn't get anything close to its initial October 2011 ask of $4.75M. When the half-mil chops started rolling in last Spring, it looked as if the hemorrhaging would cripple the seller. It didn't come to that, but the buyer has to be pleased.
