Political strategist David Axelrod and wife Susan polished off the sale of their sedate but undeniably attractive high-floor Lake Point Tower condo. The 3,200-square-foot, 3/4 unit hit the market at the end of May and a sale was pending in late July. Asking $1.25M, the property scored $1.28M. The nimble-minded Chicagoan has big things going at the University of Chicago these days, but a high-powered downtown condo is still a must for such a well-connected politico. Thankfully, the Axelrods have a comparable property at Water Tower Place on the Mag Mile, which cost them more but is guaranteed to fall short on lake views.
