BRT Watch

A survey by the Rockefeller Foundation measures the public's attitude toward public transit investment and its link to economic growth. Committed to help fund Chicago's Bus Rapid Transit proposals, the foundation went out to gather data that supports the cause. It worked— in the four cities polled, including Chicago, a large majority saw a positive link b/w mass transit investment and local and regional economic health. Also, 59% of Chicago's respondents supported bringing BRT to town. [Rockefeller Foundation, previously]
