It may only be a Twitter shout-out, but it's enough to signal that Ald. Ameya Pawar favors full-force implementation of Bus Rapid Transit on Ashland and possible Western. Chi.Streetsblog's John Greenfield phoned the alderman's office and got Bill Higgins, the ward's transit expert. Higgins confirmed theoretical support for BRT on these corridors, and stressed that very high ridership on the #9 Ashland bus warrants intensified transit and that interest in Western BRT is rising among 47th Ward residents.
