Related Midwest's marketing and repackaging program for roughly 500 unsold (and formerly unappetizing) Central Station condos is in its final chapter with this week's launch of "The Grant" at 1201 S Prairie Avenue. Sales have gone smoothly at all three properties (incl. Harbor View and The Adler), since units hit the market in February. Eighty reappointed condos at The Grant (formerly One Musuem Park West) have already sold but this is the first time prospective buyers can actually tour the building and its finished units and amenities. The "luxury" 2- and 3-beds range from 1,207 to 3,000 square feet with asking prices beginning in the $300,000s and hitting $2M.
Related Midwest prez Curt Bailey offers a familiar refrain when pitching the building: "The breadth of price points, square footage and floor plan design across this building makes it a wonderful choice for anyone looking for the ultimate luxury lifestyle in downtown Chicago," said Bailey. "...whether it's a family looking to make this their primary urban residence or a retiree who wants to enjoy the best the city has to offer." Where have we heard that before? Oh yeah, from the mouth of Bailey during the feverish push for Related's 500 N LSD rental project. There's no doubt Related's turnaround has influenced impressions of the overbuilt Central Station, but it's also clear condo sales are rebounding across the downtown with or without exhaustive rebranding efforts.
