Hey now, we're finally moving beyond pencil sketch for the development lot at 1809 W Chicago Avenue. The land spanning 1801-1809 W Chicago was cleared over the winter and will host a 10-unit condo building on its western half with the possibility of more infill at a later date. The rendering, by Hanna Architects, shows the sort of prototypical modern treatment that many small condo buildings have received along hot avenues like Chicago and Division. Almost directly opposite is the old AAA site, where Fifield will build 48 apartments. As if to prove our point, the design for that project is essentially an elongation of 1809. Both will offer ground-level retail space and better connectivity to the avenue's other gentrifying stretches. [Db Development, previously]
