"Urbanists should be coming out in droves *against* towers, as they're often built. Half a block taken up by a tower's multi-story blank walled parking podium, with a single pedestrian entrance and at least one curb-cut for a driveway, is a pretty sad vision of "density" (if you can even call it that). Half the tower fans on the internet only seem to care what a building looks like from several blocks away, as opposed to how it interacts with the street and what it's like to live within a few blocks of it. Give me a mid-rise with fine grained retail or apartments on every floor and no exposed parking over a typical tower any day (if you build a tower with those features, that's fine too, I just care less about the sky than the street)." —Anon [Soho House Check-In: Warehouse Conversion on the Move]
