The Top Three City Home Sales for the Past Seven Days

3. The western third—and final third—of Bill Wrigley's unfinished penthouse floor at 65 E Goethe has just sold. The condo-to-be went for $2.5M— pretty good for 3,300 square feet of living space with a 1,500 square-foot private terrace. Our buyer also won out over the buyer of the east and north pieces of the pie, who paid a combined $6.7M. The raw space has high concrete ceilings, plentiful windows, and a ton of flexibility with absolutely no floor plan carved out.

2. A simple, high-floor corner unit at the newly-finished Ritz-Carlton Residences on the Mag Mile has sold for $2.6M. If that's what it takes to get a 2,400 square-foot two-bed, we shudder to think what the trophy spaces will clear. The listing agent even has the gall to frame this condo as a pied-à-terre. That kind of talk just ain't fair! To the unit's credit, it does have high-end finishes, a sleek kitchen, gallery, and a sizable balcony.

1. Back to the vintage department, we've got a $2.9M sale of an outrageously good-looking Victorian town house. Curbed paid a visit to the listing in April, at which point it had already been on the market 10 months with a $470K slide from its initial asking price of $3.595M. Still, $2.9M isn't a terrible payday. The 5/6 home has 5,600 square feet of living space on the "best Gold Coast block", and boasts a pleasant olde tyme atmosphere, a glistening new kitchen, finished basement, a tidy backyard, and a 2.5-car garage. Nice.
