On The Racked

The "net zero" Evanston Walgreens isn't up and running just yet, but as it's getting built Racked Chicago got ahold of some interior renderings showing what makes the design so damn special — especially in the world of chain retail. Positioned to become the most environmentally friendly retail store in the country (discounting the car-centric site plan), the deceptively minimal interiors have a host of physical features that allow for natural lighting, passive heating and cooling, ultra-efficient refrigeration, and all-LED light bulbs. This in addition to the solar panels and wind turbines encasing the building. See all the renderings over at Racked! [Racked Chicago, previously]
