British developer Bill Davies' pie-in-the-sky proposal for an Old Main Post Office redevelopment essentially involves the construction of a small city on the South Branch. The plan has had its detractors (almost everyone) since being introduced in 2011, even now that it's offered in stages, but legitimacy can be gained through the city's approval. That'll have to wait another month, reports Crain's, as CDOT's traffic impact study has postponed the panel hearing. Local Alderman Danny Solis (25th) is suppressing his stance on the plan until the study has concluded. The first phase would include the construction of 450 apartments and partial retail occupancy of the post office itself. [Crain's, previously]
