One of the most exciting adaptive reuse projects in the city has officially gotten underway. The Fulton Market Cold Storage building in the West Loop is being given a second lease on life. The old warehouse, defrosted back in January, has been stripped down to a bare concrete skeleton and is now primed for its transformation into a 385,000-square foot office building. Sterling Bay's plans for the site, located at Morgan and Fulton Market, also call for the construction of an adjacent structure, which will house 180,000-square feet of additional office space. At least one restaurant will play a role at street level. Oh, and the entire development has been re-branded as "1K Fulton." Has a nice ring to it!
