Another duplex has hit the market at the distinguished Fugard & Knapp vintage high-rise at 20 E Cedar Street. The trademark double-height living room with chandelier, 18-foot ceiling, and loft level is of course present (see also here and here). Both of the units we've visited in the past were two-beds with asks in the high six figures. The newly-listed fourth floor unit featured today has three beds, two-and-a-half baths, and an asking price that leaps to $1.999M. Why the disparity? Well, partly it's owing to the level of finishes and the major rebuild executed in 2009, when the owner purchased the space raw and blemished for $902K. The all-new kitchen has a walk-in wine closet; the bathrooms are composed of marble; and then there's the elegant lighting, flooring and wallpaper. But a million bucks' worth? Maybe not, but the seller's happy to let the market make a ruling.
