Pissing Contest

The debate rages over whether One World Trade has truly earned the title of tallest building in North America. The NY-centric media are happy to declare it so, but the official governing body in such matters, the Council for Tall Buildings and Urban Habitats (CTBUH), has yet to weigh in. The "spire" complicates everything. Is it truly a spire or just a glorified antenna? One World Trade's "spire" lacks architectural cladding and may consist of "functional-technical equipment" rendering it an antenna. Clearly, its highest occupied floor doesn't rival Willis', and Chicagoans everywhere want to know: shouldn't that count for something? Ah well, as the world turns... [Architecture Farm]
