This just in: a press release reached the able hands of Prairie Mod, summed up as follows: Frank Lloyd Wright's Unity Temple is in line for a $10M restoration grant from Alphawood Foundation, in part to help repair water damage. Believe it or not, the degree of restoration and preservation work calls for even more funds, to be raised bake sale style. Other foundations will play a role in this lengthy campaign. Unity Temple, completed in 1908, is Wright's first public building and the oldest in use by its original occupant, who may yield ownership when all is said and done. Ever-humble Wright deemed it "my contribution to modern architecture". 'Nuff said. [Prairie Mod, Wright Stuff, screenshot via Prairie Mod]
