Following the mid-winter teaser for Fifield Cos' "Tower of Jewel" apartment plan, a host of new renderings by Solomon Cordwell Buenz have surfaced depicting each elevation and an aerial perspective for the 42-story tower. In cooperation with Jewel-Osco, owner of the site at Clark & Division, the rental development will feature studios through three-beds and is shooting for LEED certification with a podium-top green roof (see aerial above) and recycled construction materials. The new "flagship" Jewel will address the intersection and nearly double its capacity over the existing plaza store. The official promo copy tucks in this little coded bit about the project's effect on the neighborhood: "The proposed project will revitalize the immediate area and make the neighborhood more safe, secure and beautiful." How's that for thinking highly of yourself? Hat tip: Skyscraper Page user ChiPsy.
